Josep A. Pérez Castelló, a member of the I + DELab laboratory, and Helena Alvarado Alonso have published in the magazine “Llenguatge, Societat i Comunicació”, an article on how the language of children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) develops.
This article’s objective has been to summarize and synthesize the most critical current papers related to students’ language with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The literature published on this topic in the last decade is analyzed. It can be seen that there is still no agreement whether the language in people with ADHD is affected or not. However, most of the more recent research seems to show that it is. It is recommended that, when there is a suspicion of ADHD, an evaluation of the language components be made, and if necessary, an intervention. It also explains how the assessment and intervention procedure should be.
