Our group participated in the Ciència per a Tothom (Science for Everyone) fair, which took place from Thursday, May 8 to Saturday, May 10, 2025, with two activities:
Why Doesn’t Your Pet Talk?
Based on questions like: “Does your dog understand you when you talk to it?”, “What do you think your cat is missing to be able to speak like you?”, or “Where is the voice generated?”, we highlighted the importance of language and speech. The public could see and even manipulate anatomical models of the vocal apparatus and the brain. Finally, a short Stroop test was carried out, also in line with the other activity.
Brain in Trouble!
Based on questions like “What learning difficulties do you know of?” and “What psychological processes are necessary for learning?”, participants had the chance to complete interactive tests on memory and attention using an electronic device. At the end of the activity, the test results were shared to highlight how these technologies contribute to education and cognitive research.
Attendees also had the chance to leave brief impressions of what they had learned on a colorful sticky note wall.
